Recording Studio
Toyland Recording Studio in Northcote has been servicing a variety of clients for over 15 years.
Toyland was established as an independent recording studio catering for all genres of music. It is now positioned at the upper end of the project studios scale, professional enough to complete a broadcast quality product, while still being affordable for independent artists.
As technology has changed and client needs have diversified, Toyland has successfully progressed into different areas. These include voice-over for multimedia, Audio Post, radio and television, film soundtracks, advertising jingles and mastering. Toyland offers an excellent combination of classic and current equipment to suit all needs. For example, we can record through a 1960’s Telefunken V72 or V276 preamp, compress using 1970’s Urei compressors, and equalize using a 1980’s Neve V series or Focusrite ISA 110 EQ, all recorded to an up-to-date 24bit digital multitrack for editing, re-arranging and mixing or a warm fat 2" analog tape with Dolby SR or A.
In 2008, Toyland Recording Studio maintains a higher level of service and quality than ever. Contained within a large warehouse only 10 minutes from the city (including ample parking), Toyland offers many outstanding features. Clients have 24-hour access to the studio, without any sound restrictions.
For Recording, Toyland has a main room that can altered with removable baffles from semi live to very dead, there is also a very live/bright drum room that can also function as a real reverb chamber. This room also can be altered to suit your needs. A third space can be pressed into service as a additional amp room when needed. Bands can setup together and play live, or overdub using the various rooms to get different sounds. Have a listen to the MP3 demos for examples.
