The Committee comprises persons affiliated with all of the various branches of the Celtic family in Queensland, which societies have endorsed the CCAQ by becoming organisational members.

Membership is also open to individuals and all classes of membership, whether organisational or individual, have a single vote each at general meetings of the CCAQ.
Classes of membership and annual subscriptions are:

  • Individual Membership: annual subscription $20 (Retiree or Student concessional rate $10)
  • Public Organisation Membership: annual subscription $50
  • Corporate Sponsor Membership: annual subscription $150

The objects of the CCAQ are those of The Celtic Council of Australia Inc., namely:

  • Promote, organise and/or assist the provision at a university or universities in Australia of a Chair of Celtic Studies and/or of university courses in Celtic Studies
  • Promote, organise, arrange and/or assist the study of Celtic culture, Including languages at any educational institution or institutions or other organisation or organisations
  • Promote the interests of the Celtic and/or Celtic-descended residents of Australia, that is persons of Scottish, Irish, Welsh, Cornish, Manx, Breton or any other accepted Celtic descent
  • Hold social, educational and/or other meetings in pursuance of the above objects
  • Raise funds for the above objects, whether by public or private appeal and/or any other lawful means of fundraising, and to employ such funds and to make expenditure in such ways as are appropriate for the above objects.
  • And it has the function of liaising with the various Celtic societies in Queensland, of coordinating pan-Celtic activities and taking responsibility for the award of Celtic honours in that State.

The CCAQ will publish a quarterly newsletter to inform members and interested parties of its activities (sample downloadable above)

The Committee meets bimonthly (usually at the Qld Irish Club, Elizabeth St, Brisbane City) and interested persons are welcome to attend. Contact either the President or Hon. Secretary for details.
